NAB recovered Rs13bn in fake bank accounts case

RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi claimed on Tuesday 27 August, 2019 to have succeeded in recovering an amount over Rs 13 billion in fake bank accounts case.


Briefing to NAB Chairman Javed Iqbal at Rawalpindi office, Director General Irfan Naeem Mangi said that a total of six references had been filed against Abdul Ghani Majeed, former president Asif Ali Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur, Hussain Lawai and Younus Qidwai.


He added that the money recovered had been submitted in the national exchequer.


On the occasion, the NAB chairman urged the bureau officials to perform their duties without any bias, fear or influence. Javed Iqbal directed the officials that they should give respect to each accused person and must give him or her chance to submit his version.
